Milkshake Ride 2024

Come on out to celebrate being a Greenville Spinner by riding one of two great routes and be rewarded with a FREE MILKSHAKE from Slater Drug! We appreciate our members and wanted to show it by adding a free club ride with a treat. Don’t worry, if you’re not a current member of the club and want to join us, there’s time to signup between now and then, as well as on-site membership on the day of.

Due to a university surplus sale at Younts Stadium, the PRIMARY PARKING will be at the traditional NGU lot (Einstein Bagel-no longer in business) across from Dollar General. Please fill this lot before attempting to park at Younts. Additionally, Highway 414 is being prepared for being repaved, and is a mess. Please allow extra time for arrival and BE EARLIER than normal to get checked in and get your token for your FREE MILKSHAKE.

Parking

Thanks to North Greenville University, who is allowing us to use their campus for start/finish. Their campus will be busy with other events happening on Saturday, so arrive early to allow time to navigate to an open parking space, sign-in, get your free milkshake token, and prepare to ride.

Highway 414 is under construction but drivable. Bathrooms in the Younts Stadium should be open. Refer to the map. Try and park in the Primary Parking area first, then try the Secondary Parking area. If both are full, continue on Blackwell Road and park in the grass as directed.

On the map, Event Start is the location of sign-in. If you are not a Greenville Spinners Member but want to participate, you can pay for a membership pre-ride during sign-in.

Ride is rain or shine. Your free milkshake is available Saturday, May 18 only. We’re looking forward to a great day!

Road-riding Tips

Most of you are aware of and follow these road-riding tips. However, it’s always good to be reminded of them and the cycling behavior expected on Greenville Spinners Rides.

• All riders must wear a cycling helmet
• Front and back lights are required
• No headphones or earbuds allowed
• Obey all traffic laws
• If you hear or see emergency vehicles approaching please stop and get off the road as quickly and safely as possible
• Always have emergency contact information on you
• You must stop at all stop signs or red lights
• Stay to the right side of the yellow line(s) at all times. Never cross the yellow line(s)
• Always ride no more than 2 abreast on the right side of the road
• Be respectful of each other. Aggressive attitudes are not welcome
• Call out and/or point out road hazards and traffic situations for others
• Car approaching from ahead = “Car Up!”
• Car approaching from behind = “Car Back!”
• Car passing group = “Car Passing!” or “Coming Around!”
• Point or call out potholes, bumps, sticks, glass, rocks/gravel/sand, roadkill, or other potential hazards
• Indicate turns or group slowing/stopping with appropriate hand signals

This event is weather permitting. Ride will be cancelled in case of rain or storm.
